TransLoc a Finalist in NC Tech Awards 2019

Recognized for Creating “Tech for Good”

DURHAM, N.C., September 27, 2019 – This week, the North Carolina Technology Association announced TransLoc as a finalist for the NC TECH Awards’ “Tech for Good” award. The NC TECH Awards is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program that recognizes innovation, growth, and leadership in the tech sector.

As the leader in mission-critical transportation software, TransLoc offers holistic technology solutions to transit agencies, universities, and business campuses. This includes Agency-Owned Microtransit, which allows passengers to order an on-demand curb-to-curb ride through the ease of a smartphone app. By providing this ride share service on smaller neighborhood-friendly buses that can include riders in underserved transit zones, this innovative program is helping transit agencies fill service gaps while also creating more equitable communities by closing the social mobility gap.

“For over 20 years, NC TECH has celebrated companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement at the NC TECH Awards. As a finalist this year, TransLoc has distinguished itself as one of the state’s innovative and emergent leaders,” stated Brooks Raiford, NC TECH’s President and CEO.

“We are honored to be finalists for the “Tech for Good” award,” said TransLoc CEO Justin Rees. “Our intuitive technology is giving Americans more accessibility to transit which prevents isolation and a greater ability for people to experience social mobility. It has been an honor to do this important work together with transit providers across the country.”

The awards process culminates with the NC TECH Awards Gala on November 21, 2019 at the Raleigh Convention Center where 800+ business, technology, and public leaders from across the state will gather to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners and finalists in each category.
