Aaron Berdanier Honored with ACT's 40 Under 40 Award

Acknowledged for Solving Transportation and Mobility Challenges

DURHAM, N.C., November 10, 2020 – Today the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) honored TransLoc’s Senior Product Manager Aaron Berdanier with the 2020 “40 Under 40 Award.” ACT toasted the accomplishments of transportation demand management (TDM) professionals and industry leaders at a ceremony during its annual TDM Forum, held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 crisis. Winners were selected for their commitment to solving the transportation and mobility challenges facing their communities and organizations.

“During a year that has introduced unprecedented challenges to the industry, it’s a pleasure to look to the future of TDM with this impressive group of leaders addressing transportation and mobility. The work they do makes a very real difference in the quality of life for commuters, and their creative solutions are improving the sustainability of their communities,” said ACT Executive Director David Straus.

Berdanier’s dedication to sparking innovative transportation solutions has led to the development of a geospatial transportation simulator, or demand-response route simulator, for public transit planning that has been deployed by U.S. transit agencies, helping improve service levels by increasing wait-time reliability and vehicle efficiency. He currently drives the initiative to enable multimodal transportation to close the first-mile last-mile gap for transit users without access to demand-response, laying the foundation for a fair and equitable future in mobility.

“I am excited to be included in this group of forward-looking transportation professionals,” said Berdanier. “Transportation demand is a major mobility challenge, and effective Transportation Demand Management is essential for creating more sustainable and equitable cities. It is an honor to have TransLoc’s data and software work recognized for supporting that effort.”

The winners represent a diverse cross-section of the industry, including private sector employers, city and state governments, service providers, consultants, and nonprofits.
