TransLoc deploys Multi-language App Functionality

Development Enhances Already Robust Product Portfolio

April 30, 2020, Durham, N.C., – TransLoc, a leader in mission-critical transit technology solutions, announced today the release of its multi-language app, the first of its kind in transit technology. The TransLoc app is the only transit app to offer multiple languages along with fixed route and on-demand services.

This development gives the Ford Mobility company* the ability to service customers and riders in nearly any language. Using best in class coding and app development to deploy this technology, TransLoc has helped make transit more accessible for millions of riders.

“A large number of transit users are non-native English speakers. They deserve a seamless transit experience as well,” said Ben Haynie, Vice President of Product for TransLoc, Ride Systems, and DoubleMap. “With the deployment of our multi-language app, this unlocks opportunity and mobility for them. We are able to help deliver, not only a smooth transit experience, but also increased access to opportunity.”

Riders can access the multi-language functionality of the app without any additional effort. Using a technology called localization, the app detects the language settings of a user’s phone to determine the language in which to service a user. Current languages include English and Spanish, but the company will continue to add additional languages as market demand increases.

The TransLoc app is available for iOS users in the Apple App Store and for Android users in the Google Play Store.
