DURHAM, N.C.–()–TransLoc, a transportation technology provider, today announced its expansion into renovated office space in the Research Triangle. The office will serve as national headquarters for TransLoc’s operations helping organizations and municipalities solve major transportation challenges. As part of the expansion, the company plans to increase its workforce by nearly 30 percent over the remainder of the year to meet soaring national demand for its transportation technology platform.

“TransLoc’s strong national growth has been fueled by our valuable relationship with the Raleigh-Durham area,” said Doug Kaufman, CEO of TransLoc. “We’ve been working with seven local transit agencies in the community for a decade, doing everything from helping deliver a superior riding experience to hiring dozens of graduates from leading institutions in the area. We’re excited to enter our next phase of growth delivering seamless mobility for all from right here in Durham.”

TransLoc recently completed its move into a newly renovated space at 4505 Emperor Boulevard in Durham across from regional bus operator GoTriangle’s headquarters and will serve as a hub for all product and technology development, administration, sales and marketing operations. The office space will accommodate the company’s planned growth to nearly 100 employees by the end of the year.

“Durham has set an ambitious city initiative to make neighborhoods more accessible and sustainable,” said Durham Mayor Bill Bell. “TransLoc is playing a vital role in meeting these goals by increasing mobility across a variety of transportation options. It is leading the way for technological innovation right here in North Carolina and we are proud to be home base for the company’s rapid growth across the country.”

The announcement comes on the heels of a recent $8 million round of outside funding led by SJF Ventures and Fontinalis Partners. With GOTriangle, the company is currently piloting a multi-modal version of its popular Rider app, integrating an array of transit options including Uber and the bus to provide the fastest way for riders to get to their destination. Providers across the state, from Duke University’s transit system to the Greensboro Transit Authority, are working with TransLoc to build easy, seamless transportation systems beloved by their riders.
