DURHAM, N.C.–()–TransLoc, a leading transportation technology provider dedicated to delivering seamless mobility for all, has made Fast Company’s list of the Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Transportation for 2017.

Hailed as a Top 10 Most Innovative Company in Transportation, TransLoc will be featured in Fast Company’s upcoming March issue. Fast Company’s annual ranking of the Most Innovative Companies for 2017 honors leading enterprises and rising newcomers that exemplify the best in nimble business and impactful innovation.

“We’re proud to be ranked by Fast Company as one of the world’s most innovative companies,” said Doug Kaufman, TransLoc CEO. “This award is a testament to our work using technology to empower transit agencies to attract and retain happy riders. It also shows the progress we’ve made toward creating a fully integrated and connected network of transportation modes with public transit at the center.”

The company experienced tremendous growth in 2016, launching new innovative products and services and forging key partnerships, including with fellow Fast Company Most Innovative honoree Uber— to achieve a 48 percent year-over-year increase in transit agency customers. Through its partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, TransLoc integrated Amtrak trains statewide with other modes of public transit and Uber in its Rider app. TransLoc also announced its newest product, Architect, that enables transit agencies to intuitively create, manage and maintain their General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) data. By simplifying what was once a technically burdensome process, Architect facilitates GTFS creation—a critical component to transit agencies making their routes and services visible to the public on platforms like Google Maps.

“Our growth as a company reflects the evolution of the transit industry and its openness to incorporating technology to benefit riders and the future of mobility,” added Kaufman.

Most Innovative Companies is one of Fast Company’s most significant and highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. To produce the 2017 list, Fast Company reporters surveyed thousands of enterprises across the globe to identify the most notable innovations of the year and trace the impact of those initiatives on business, industry, and the larger culture. The Most Innovative Companies list also highlights Top 10 lists in 36 sectors and geographies, from artificial intelligence to health to transportation.

“These enterprises continue to set the pace for their industries, showing agility and aggressiveness that makes them undeniable,” says Fast Company editor and managing director Robert Safian.

Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March 2017) is now available online at https://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2017 as well as in app form via iTunes, and on newsstands beginning February 21.
