Hello there. My name is Alex Gibson, and I’m a product manager here at TransLoc. Two weeks ago we announced TransLoc’s partnership with Uber and gave a sneak peek at how the integration will work. Now that I’m able to discuss our plans publicly, I’d like to ask for your help.
As a product manager, my job is to leverage technology in order to solve the biggest problems plaguing public transit. Our Uber partnership is a step in the direction of eliminating the first-mile/last-mile problem for the riders of public transit without asking agencies to make any operational changes.
My job also includes understanding how and why people are using our products and how they can be improved. Our vision of the perfect transit system doesn’t stop here, and the more feedback we get from people like you, the better our products become. So I’m asking for your help.
If you’ve read this far, it’s safe to assume that you’re at least slightly interested in public transit or mobile technology (or just free stuff). As hokey as it sounds, we’re trying to build the future of mobility, and this is your opportunity to help shape that future.
Interested in becoming a beta tester? Head over to our TransLoc | Uber beta sign up page. I promise I won’t email you often or share your email with telemarketers. I may, however, send you Uber promo codes, an invitation to our launch parties in Durham and Memphis, and TransLoc-related swag so that you can rep your allegiance to the future of public transit.
